Magento Imagine is an event that you don’t want to miss if you’re an eCommerce professional. That is why a couple of members of Zento’s team, namely Sandu Babasan, CEO, and Vlad Stanescu, CTO, attended Magento Imagine 2018 with a few of goals in mind:
- Connect with the global eCommerce community;
- Learn the latest updates and innovations in the industry;
- Get inspired by some of the brightest commerce experts.
This year’s edition, which took place at Wynn Las Vegas, featured more than 100 industry experts, over 65 speaking sessions, and 3.000 attendees.
Takeaways From Magento Imagine 2018
Lead the charge was the event’s theme, and it’s also what Mark Lavelle, Magento CEO, focused on in his opening speech. As always, his keynote was incredibly inspiring and motivating. He talked about leadership, values, and community.
Mark Lavelle presented Magento’s cornerstones as well, which are as follows:
Be an owner. Own everything you do;
Be agile. Be open to change;
Be the community. Be active in the ecosystem;
Be innovative. Raise the standards;
Be a team. Win with, and for the team.
It was extremely refreshing to hear Mark talk about Magento’s vision and mission for the commerce world and also reveal the company’s goals for 2018.
Jamie Foxx, the renowned American actor, singer, and comedian, was this year’s special keynote speaker. He joined Mark Lavelle on stage and together they had an informal discussion about the things that helped him in his career. The advice given by Jamie Foxx is something that can be effortlessly applied in eCommerce as well:
It truly was a fantastic experience seeing him on stage and getting the chance to hear so many insightful and valuable stories from his career.
The last thing we want to mention is the speech of Melissa Ben-Ishay, who rocked the stage on day two, and is the founder of Baked by Melissa. She shared her entrepreneurial story and how she turned her online baking business into a massive success in less than ten years. Melissa also pointed out a few aspects that helped her turn the company from a homegrown business into a well-established brand. The secret: knowing what makes her audience tick.
