A premium Danish footwear brand, with a store of its own in Romania

ECCO case study

About ECCO

ECCO is one of the best-known premium footwear brands in the world, present in more than 100 countries through over 2,000 of its own stores and thousands of other points of sale.

What sets it apart is control over the whole chain: ECCO owns its tanneries and factories, and both the leather and the direct-injection sole technology are developed in-house. That is where its way of presenting products comes from — on materials, construction and comfort, not just on model and size.

The catalogue covers footwear for women, men and children — from casual and business to sandals, boots and outdoor models — alongside bags, belts, wallets, gloves and care products.

The challenge of an international brand store

An ECCO store has to follow the group's visual identity and standards exactly, the same ones that apply in every country the brand operates in, while at the same time being localised for Romania — with ERP integrations, local payment methods and local couriers.

Footwear brings a catalogue challenge of its own: the same model exists in several colours and across a long run of sizes, with varying availability. Given how visually customers choose products like these, it called for a combination of configurable products and repeating their display across every colour.

The Zento solution

The store built on Zento respects the brand manual and implements it in a fast, optimised Magento 2 interface.

Editorial collection content lives inside the same store rather than apart from it, so inspiration and catalogue are one click from each other.

The Zento foundation covers the rest: online card payments, delivery through local couriers and integrated returns — all configured for the Romanian market.
